Orders

  • Orders must be placed 7+ days in advance – I can only accommodate so much so the earlier, the better
  • I currently open my books 2 months in advance
  • Where possible, rush orders may be accepted and are subject to an additional fee
  • Use Bakesy link or email to specify the following: flavour, filling, size, shape, date for pickup and any inspo pictures so I can provide you a full quote
  • I do not copy others work verbatim, they are meant as inspiration
  • Not all designs/themes align with my style and I am happy to recommend others where I can

Confirmation & Payment

  • I will send you an invoice with cake details, total payment amount and payment timeline
  • A non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of sending the order form or the slot will be reopened
  • No cake order is confirmed until the deposit is received
  • Final payment date will be outlined on order form and is approximately 5 days before pickup
  • Failure to pay on this date without discussing with me prior may lead to me postponing or cancelling your order

Allergies

  • Although I take every precaution to prepare your food safely, orders are made in an environment where milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, chocolate, soy, sesame, wheat, and gluten products are used. For this reason, I cannot guarantee they are free from traces of these or other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold Kristine and Buttercream harmless for allergic reactions.
  • Keeping in mind the above, I am able to accommodate most dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free and vegan requests
  • I do not offer gluten free at this time
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to inform me prior to the confirmation of their booking of any allergies

Pick-up Information

  • Pickup is in Hesson, ON (in between Elmira & Listowel, 30–40 min outside of Kitchener Waterloo)
  • Delivery is only available for tiered cakes and fee is dependent on mileage and time
  • Pickup time will be agreed upon the week of, please message me once you are leaving and have arrived

Cake Travel

  • The cake should sit on the car floor, preferably on a non-slip mat, so it is level. Never store the cake on the car seat. If possible, front passenger floor is the best option.
  • Temperature control is very important. Keep your car cold. For hot days, make sure you have the A/C on and preferably blowing onto the cake box. Do not place the cake in direct sunlight while driving.
  • Cakes can vary in weight. Always carry a cake from the bottom and if displaying, make sure it is on a steady and even surface that can support its weight.
  • Once the cake has left my care, I am not liable or responsible for any issues that arise during transportation and/or afterwards.

Cancellations

  • Deposit is non-refundable
  • Cancellations and cutoff to making changes is 1 week in advance
  • Any add-ons that require ordering (custom toppers, faux flowers etc) needs to be communicated at least 2 weeks in advance


If unforeseen circumstances arise, such as illness, a personal or family emergency, or equipment failure, Kristine and Buttercream may need to delay, reschedule, or cancel an order. You will be notified as soon as possible and provided with the best available option.
